Public Key Parameter Parser

Parse the algorithm, RSA bit length or elliptic-curve parameters of an RSA, ECC or SM2 PEM/DER public key locally.

What is Public Key Parameter Parser?

Public keys can be distributed, but their algorithm and strength should still meet the target system's requirements. This tool parses an existing PEM/DER public key locally and reports its algorithm, RSA bit length or ECC/SM2 curve. It does not extract a public key from a private key or generate a new key. Parsing identifies a file format and compatibility only; it cannot establish that a public key matches a particular certificate, CSR or remote service.

How to Use

  1. Paste a PEM public key or import DER
  2. Review its algorithm and RSA bit length or elliptic-curve parameters
  3. Check compatibility against the target protocol and system; use the relevant certificate or CSR for matching checks

FAQ

Can a public key be shared?
Yes. Certificates contain public keys by design. The matching private key and any private-key password must remain secret.
Does this tool extract a public key from a private key?
No. It parses an already supplied PEM/DER public key only. Use Private Key Parameter Parser to extract a public key from a private key.
Does parsing prove a public key matches a certificate?
No. Compare the public-key material of the certificate, CSR or private-key workflow in a controlled matching process.
